International Jazz Conference at Leeds College of Music
April 7th and 8th 2011 will see the latest International Jazz Conference take place in Leeds. Ever since 1993 when the first conference took place the annual gathering has been well received by jazz enthusiasts, with people from all over the world coming to the Leeds College of Music to debate and discuss the latest developments (and maybe take in the odd jam session). It has been announced on the College of Music’s website that the main theme of this year’s conference will be ‘the under-explored subject of jazz composition, composing and composers’. Jazz composition can take in many diverse approaches – this humble blogger’s personal favourite is the spirit of improvisation that is distilled so perfectly in Miles Davis’ classic “Kind of Blue” – there’s a reason why this album is widely acknowledged as a classic.
However, when it comes to accommodation, we recommend that you avoid improvisation. Instead, just get in touch with us here at Serviced City Pads and we will find you somewhere to stay while you take in the conference. We have a number of apartments in Leeds who can accommodate you in one of their serviced apartments.
The apartments range from studio apartments that can sleep up to 2 people to larger 2 bedroom apartments that can accommodate 4 people. A serviced apartment is an affordable alternative to a traditional hotel room – they offer much more space and comfort at competitive rates. If you’re interested in a stay in a serviced apartment, then contact us here at Serviced City Pads and see what we can do for you!
