Notting Hill Festival 2011 – What’s On!

1 million people are expected to go to this years festival with yet another mega line up of artists and performers from all over the world, the Carnival actually started inside a Church Hall in 1959 in Notting Hill, led by immigrants from the Trinidad and Tobago immigrant communities who arrived in London in the 1950’s. It’s first outdoor outing began in 1964 which resembles the modern day route. The Notting Hill Carnival is about music first and foremost and here’s small taster of what is on offer throughout the Festival Weekend.
Over 40 static sound systems which are located throughout the Carnival route, with World reknowned DJ’s spinning the tunes and mixing on their decks, music played ranges from the wonderful Reggae, Acid Jazz, Garage, Hip Hop, Electric and Drum and Bass.
