The Edinburgh Harp Festival 2012
If you know anything about Harp music, you’ll have heard of the Edinburgh International Harp Festival. This wonderful event was put on by a dedicated group of volunteers who wanted to celebrate the musical excellence of the harp. Held in Merchinstone Castle School within the Scottish capital, the festival always has a magical and surreal atmosphere that will appeal to all those who can’t get enough of the harp. The 2012 festival was the celebration of the 31st anniversary of the Edinburgh International Harp Festival and was more spectacular than ever before! Visitors had the chance to hear some of the best harpists around and enjoy the serene music created by this magical instrument.
The International Harp festival also boasts an exhibition section where visitors get the chance to see a wide array of harps made in the UK and from around the world. You can even take part in the Lost Cave of Harps Walk where a mysterious journey will unfold to inform you of all there is to know about harps. Stories, riddles and rhymes will take place making this a part of the International Harp Festival that children will really enjoy.
Get yourself to the International Harp Festival at Edinburgh next summer and have a harp-tastic time.
