English hip hop duo, Rizzle Kicks, will be performing at Portsmouth Guildhall on 5^th December. The duo hail from Brighton and consist of Jordan Stephens and Harley Alexander-Sule. Both boys attended the BRIT school which has produced stars such as Jessie J, Leona Lewis and Amy Winehouse. They decided to combine forces in 2008 after working together a little bit on a few songs and realising how well their styles fitted together.

Rizzle Kicks signed to Island Records in 2010 and in 2011, they released a promotional single ‘Prophet (Better Watch It)’. The track had an unlikely admirer in the form of actor, comedian, author and presenter, Stephen Fry, who tweeted that he was “unexpectedly loving the old school hip hop sounds of Rizzle Kicks”. The boys played as many festivals as possible over summer 2011 and their first official single, ‘Down With The Trumpets’ was released shortly afterwards. Follow up singles included ‘When I Was A Youngster’ and ‘Mama Do The Hump’, both of which reached the UK Top 10.
