A New Dawn for Liverpool FC?

After all that Liverpool Football Club has been through this season the last thing they needed was to lose the talismanic Spanish striker Fernando Torres to their rivals Chelsea. However, despite the blow of losing one of the world’s best forwards there seems to be a new spirit of optimism around Anfield that was unimaginable at the start of this season. Torres has moved on but the British record transfer fee of £50,000,000 has gone quite a way to softening the blow as it allowed the club to bring in two young and exciting attacking talents to fill the void left by El Nino. If you’re going to be visiting Anfield to see these new arrivals, Serviced City Pads can find you accommodation for your stay. Our Reservations Team can be contacted on 0844-335-8866.
Firstly, there is the Uruguayan Luis Suarez who had been a long-term Liverpool target before his signing from Ajax. He has made an immediate impact by scoring against Stoke on his home debut in a match the Reds won 2-0, continuing the feel-good factor that has been brought by club legend and new caretaker-manager Kenny Dalglish. Suarez wears the iconic number 7 shirt and already looks like he will add intelligence and bite to the attack and has already shown that he is willing to lend a hand in defence.
The dramatic deadline-day capture of Newcastle’s Andy Carroll for a fee of £35,000,000 is another interesting addition to the squad. Already capped for the senior national side at 21, Liverpool’s new signing looks like he will add another dimension to the attack. Hopefully he can form a partnership with fellow new boy Suarez that will rival the great Toshack – Keegan double act.
With these exciting new additions, and having got rid of a player who wanted to move on for a very generous fee, there is every possibility that Kenny Dalglish’s revitalised Redmen will be able to climb back up the league table. If the King can get his team to maintain the kind of form and results they are achieving at the moment, perhaps we could see the “caretaker” prefix removed from his job description. At the very least, Dalglish and his players have given the fans some reason for hope after the nightmare of the last couple of years.
