ATP Tennis World Tour Finals, O2 Arena London

The O2 Arena, London plays host to the ATP (Tennis) World Tour Finals this week with the 8 most successful players on the ATP tour fighting it out in a Round Robin event that culminates with a final where the Tournament winner can win $1.67 Million (around £1 Million should he go through each match unbeaten). The event started on Sunday and we have already seen wins by home favourite Andy Murray (who beat US Open winner Juan Martin Del Potro) and Roger Federer who beat Spain’s Verdasco.

The 8 players (Andy Roddick is injured and has been replaced by the Swede Robin Soderling) are split into 2 groups of 4 – headed by Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer, then the top 2 players in each group play a semi-final, then a final. Serviced City Pads expects the London winner to come from either defending champ Novak Djokovic or Roger Federer. Although Murray has won 6 tournaments this year and comes here fresh after an injury, Serviced City Pads expects him to come up short once again on the biggest stage.

The O2 Arena London provides a spectacular setting for a Tennis tournament with over 17,000 seats plus many corporate boxes for corporate customers staying in London.

There are still tickets to be had through this week so if you fancy a last minute London visit and you fancy a trip to London then call Serviced City Pads and we will be delighted to organise a serviced apartment in London for your visit. You could combine the tennis with doing some Chistmas shopping in Central London.

The O2 Arena was formerly known as the Millennium Dome and is situated on the River Thames at Greenwich. The Dome was in danger of becoming an expensive and emabarrassing White Elephant, having cost in excess of £800 million, a symbol of waste from the new Labour Government. However, the site has seen a massive transormation since being rebranded and is now a massively successful venue for sporting events and Live Music (Prince played a number of sellout London shows at the O2 Arena and Michael Jackson was due to take up a long standing residency before his unfortunate death). It is now one of (if not the) busiest live concert venues in the world and has transformed how London can host such big scale events.

Serviced City Pads will be delighted to organise your accommodation for your stay in London. We will be able to organise a serviced apartment in London as an alternative to you staying in hotel in London. The apartment will offer you more space andcomfort than the 4 walls of a hotel room. Our London apartments are situated across the Capital City and are within easy access of all tourist attractions in London as well as being only a short journey to the O2 where you will have a great time roaring on the best tennis players on the planet, and unlike tennis at Wimbledon, it’s all indoors so who cares if it rains!!
