As well as hosting several arts festivals, such as the Cheltenham Literature Festival, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, and Cheltenham Music Festival, the town is famously home of the flagship race of British steeplechase horse racing, the Gold Cup, which is the main event of the annual Cheltenham Festival, held every March.
