Exeter

Exeter is a cathedral city located in the sunny county of Devon, with a history dating back to Roman times. Its cobbled city-centre streets are lined with landmarks, cultural venues, and heritage sites, such as the cathedral – founded in 1050, the ruins of Rougemont Castle – built soon after the Norman Conquest, and the 14th-century Tudor building nicknamed ‘The House That Moved’. Its proximity to the coast means there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy further afield. Economically, the Met Office is one of the city’s principal employers, along with University of Exeter, Devon County Council, and the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust.
