Gloucester is the county city of Gloucestershire and is located close to the Welsh border, on the River Severn. Coined the cathedral city of the Cotswolds, Gloucester has a history dating back to Roman times, and has seen unprecedented regeneration in the past ten years, most notable at the city’s historic docks. As well has being home to a host of museums, historical sites, galleries, and cultural venues, Gloucester is on the doorstep of the beautiful Cotswolds to the east and the Forest of Dean to the southwest. Economically, the city is dominated by the service industries, and has a strong financial and business sector.
