Host cities named for 2018 World Cup Bid

The England World Cup Bid for 2018 today announced it’s 12 host cities who will form the backbone of the final submission which is made to FIFA in May 2010. Serviced City Pads would like to congratulate Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Nottingham, Plymouth, Sheffield and Sunderland.

Chris Rose, Director at Serviced City Pads commented, “It is great news for the twelve cities involved in the World Cup bid and should England win this bid, we envisage Billions of Pounds worth of extra revenue flowing into the UK economy. We congratulate the winning city bids. Of course, there were some surprises with the inclusion of Plymouth and Milton Keynes (both deserved). There had been rumours that Liverpool may miss out although that didn’t prove to be the case. With Everton FC not having any plans for a new stadium the city will only have one representative – the New Anfield, and that’s assuming LFC finds the funds to build their new stadium. It is actually a rather sad state of affirs considering that Goodison Park held a World Cup semi-final the last time England hosted (and won) the competition in 1966.

Potentially the strongest bid was put together by Manchester, who boast 2 fantastic stadiums in Old Trafford and the City Of Manchester Stadium. With a Capacity of more than 75,000 people, Old Trafford looks like a certainty to hold one of the Tournaments semi finals along with the new Wembley (in London) which will stage the World Cup Final. The City of Manchester Stadium – an improved relic of the 2002 Commonwealth games that were staged in Manchester, is also now an impressive ground holding just short of 50,000 people. For those people who book an apartment in Manchester with Serviced City Pads during the World Cup will find Manchester to be a buoyant city that is a terrific place to visit. You will be able to use your Hotel Manchester as a base and from here you are very close to travelling to Liverpool, Leeds and other host cities where matches will be played. The travel network from Manchester is excellent – both Road and Rail, and you will be within 2 hours of reaching the majority of other cities.”

Serviced City Pads will be operating in all of the host cities – booking both serviced apartments and hotels in each host city. We are already strong in Manchester and book many serviced apartments Manchester for both corporate and leisure customers who stay in Manchester. We hope to make many bookings for visitors to Manchester who would like to book a Manchester serviced apartment. A winning World Cup bid will ensure a fantastic summer in 2018 for the host cities with visitor numbers swelling.
