In Kids Week why not see Shrek The Musical in the West End?

Shrek the Musical is based on the 2001 hit film ‘Shrek’ which in turn is based on William Steig’s 1990 book ‘Shrek!’ The show has been running in America on Broadway since 2008. A national tour of the US started in 2010 and the UK led in the West End began in June 2011. The show so far has been a success receiving generally positive reviews from critics. So much so that recently the show has been extended to run up until October 2012. The newly revised version that will be showing in the UK stars some well-known and well-loved British actors. The main 4 charactors in the show are Nigel Lindsay as Shrek, Amanda Holden as Princess Fiona, Richard Blackwood as Donkey and Nigel Harman as Lord Farqaad.

During August 12 – 26 2011, Shrek The Musical will be a proud participant in ‘Kids Week’ in the West End, which promises to be an action-packed fortnight of theatrical fun. During Kids Week, under- 16s can experience all the magic of London theatre and see an amazing selection of shows for free, plus two additional children can go at half price (per transaction), as long as they are accompanied by a full paying adult.  As a special bonus extra, on Thursday August 18, 2011, children can participate in an exclusive free dance workshop with a member of the  cast at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Booking for Kids Week in the West End will open on Tuesday July 12 and tickets are available online at www.kidsweek.co.uk.

If you’re thinking of heading down to London and are looking for West End accommodation for the family, a great idea would be to book a serviced apartment. For the family, a serviced apartment in London offers much more than an equivalent hotel would. For starters you can get the whole family in the same apartment without having to be split across a few hotel rooms and having 5 kids sleeping on a sofa. It also gives you the flexibility of having a kitchen and separate bedrooms so it feels much more like a home than it would being stuck in the four walls of a hotel room. There are plenty of West End apartment options that are very suitable London family accommodation. A good place to start would be to get in touch with Serviced City Pads who can offer a wide selection of London self-catering accommodation for families. Visit the website at www.servicedcitypads.com and see what can be offered for your stay in London’s West End.
