Liverpool to host Labour Party Conference 2011

It has been announced that Liverpool is to be the host city for the Labour Party annual conference for the first time in September 2011.

This is a massive boost for Liverpool and sees the city transformed into one of the top conference destinations in the UK, if not Europe. A massive factor in this renaissance has been the building of the Echo Arena and BT convention centre where the conference will be held. The BT convention centre sits proudly as part of Liverpool’s famous skyline, adjacent to the Albert Dock, along from the 3 graces and looking proudly out over the River Mersey. It is an impressive addition.

The news follows on from the recent cabinet meeting held in Liverpool and another recent announcement that the Liberal party would be holding their conference in Liverpool in September 2010.

Chris Rose, Director at Serviced City Pads, a leading serviced apartment booking company commented, “This is great news for Liverpool and our local economy. It would have been inconceivable that an event of this size and stature could have been held in Liverpool 5 years ago. Infact, with the Labour conference taking place in Manchester next year, it proves that the conference industry in the north west is thriving. We aim to be an integral part of the accommodation booking process for both events whether that is for hotels or short stay apartments.”

Serviced City Pads, who are based in Liverpool,  have many serviced apartments in Manchester and Liverpool. The company is also able to organise hotel accommodation in Liverpool and hotels in Manchester.
