Saltimbanco is an Italian phrase that translates to English as “to jump on a bench” and the show is all about the urban experience – whether that is the landscape of a city, the people who live within the urban landscape and everything that goes with that city life. It’s an appropriate theme in the UK as many of our provincial cities have been transformed over the last decade, from wastelands to vibrant areas where people now choose to live. As with all Cirque Du Soleil shows, you should expect fanciful characters that have been drawn from a dreamlike world and will include acts on the Chinese poles, juggling, the Russian swing, trapeze and bicycles…..an incredible show in terms of both thought and physical achievement.

The Cirque Du Soleil tour starts in Sheffield on May 20th 2010 and takes in many arena venues in the following cities: Liverpool; Glasgow; Manchester, Birmingham; Newcastle; Dublin; Nottingham and London where the tour reaches it’s finale on 1st August.
