London Serviced Apartments for the ATP World Tour Finals

When looking for O2 Arena accommodation there are good number of serviced apartments in London where you good choose to stay. A great alternative to hotels, serviced apartments provide a different experience for short term accommodation in London as you can get the use of a whole apartment whilst still enjoying the service of a hotel.

In November 2011 the ATP World Tour Finals returns to London in The O2 Arena  for an 8 day tournament between the world’s best 8 players at singles and team at doubles. The ATP World Tour Finals is unlike most of the other events on the men’s tour, as it’s not a straightforward knock-out tournament. The 8 players are split into 2 groups of 4 and then these all play each other in 3 round-robin matches. The best 2 out of each group progress to the semi-finals and then the winners meet in the final to see who will be the overall champion. In terms of the official world ranking, the winners can potentially be awarded up to 1500 points, so goes a long away to helping players achieve their dream of being the number 1 ranked tennis player in the world.

In 2010, legendary Swiss tennis star Roger Federer was the winner, just beating the World No. 1 at the time Rafael Nadal in an exciting final, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1. The games building up to the final didn’t disappoint either, with all of the world’s best players serving up some breathtaking tennis. Britain’s Andy Murray looked excellent throughout the group stages before once again becoming unstuck against his nemesis Nadal in the semis.

Watching tennis at The O2 Arena is a very different experience than what you would see at Wimbledon. It’s a lot more of a theatrical affair, with the indoor arena meaning the audience is cloaked in darkness whilst all eyes are the brightly lit court in the centre. Being on hard court it’s fast tempo tennis and the high intensity atmosphere of the O2 Arena.

When looking for London accommodation there are plenty of options available. One type of accommodation that is becoming increasingly popular is serviced apartments and there is an abundance of these across London. There are a good few London serviced apartment options located close to the O2 Arena where you can stay whilst watching the tennis but also be close to all the main sights and sounds of London. If you’re visiting the city for the tournament you would be well advised to take a few days to enjoy London as it has so much to offer. Staying in a London serviced apartment gives you a lot more space than in an equivalently priced hotel room whilst also give a similar level of comfort and luxury.
