Queens of the Stone Age to play Manchester Academy

Some would say that nostalgia isn’t what it used to be. However, these people may not have realised that Queens of the Stone Age are coming to the UK on a mini-tour to promote the re-release of their classic self-titled debut album. The Queens will be at the Manchester Academy on Saturday 21st May when they will be playing the 1998 release in full, as well as other songs from that period (and probably one or two of the big hits as well…).

Rising phoenix-like from the ashes of alt-metal pioneers and cult heroes Kyuss, the Queens have allowed Josh Homme to take his rightful place in the pantheon of the rock gods. The band have released some great albums since then, perhaps the greatest of which, Songs for the Deaf, saw them graduate to regular festival headliner slots around the world. The Queens have established themselves as one of the best live acts around, and this show should demonstrate why their reputation is justified.

There are only a few dates on this tour, so there may be many people making a pilgrimage across the UK to Manchester to see these gods of rock. Fortunately, in these modern times pilgrimages are somewhat easier – particularly now that serviced apartments are becoming more and more prevalent.

If you and your friends will be coming to Manchester, why not try staying in a serviced apartment? They are more comfortable and more spacious than a hotel room, allowing you and your friends a place to relax. Here at Serviced City Pads we have apartments all over the UK through our apartment operators, and plenty in Manchester that could be the perfect choice for you. Why not contact us and see what we can find for your visit to Manchester? You can e-mail us, or you can call us on 0844-335-8866 to talk to one of our reservations team who will be happy to help you find the right apartment.
