Calvin Harris hails from Dumfries, Scotland and is one of the UK’s most celebrated DJ, record producer and singer-songwriters! At the age of 27, he has worked with some of the biggest names in the business including Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue, Dizzee Rascal and Rihanna. Calvin is in fact supporting Rihanna on her UK Tour Loud Tour this year , fitting his live DJ sets at clubs in-between the sold out arena concerts. Calvin first shot onto the chart scene in 2007 with his infectious single ‘Acceptable in the 80s’ from his first album, ‘I Created Disco’. However, he has been recording and producing his own songs since 1999, singing a contract with Sony BMG in 2006 after he was discovered on the social networking site, MySpace. Other singles from ‘I Created Disco’ include ‘The Girls’, which charted at number 5 and ‘Merrymaking at My Place’. Calvin had a busy year in 2007 as he also co-wrote and produced two of Kylie Minogue’s songs on her ‘X’ album. His second album ‘Ready for the Weekend’ held two top five singles and was another storming success for the DJ. Calvin is also famous for some strange behaviour including invading the stage when watching ‘X Factor’ with a pineapple on his head and lying about losing his baggage (including his new album) at Heathrow Airport to buy himself more time to finish recording.
