31 year old Welsh beauty, Katherine Jenkins is one of the UK’s all time best selling classical artists. She is a mezzo-soprano and has achieved fame and popularity not only in the world of classical music, but has redefined classical crossover music, making her one of the most popular UK female artists of the moment. She started off at humble beginnings, growing up in Neath, Wales but after working hard in singing and piano lessons, left school with grade 8 in both. She won numerous awards for her singing whilst at school, including the prestigious St Cecilia Award and BBC Radio 2 Welsh Choirgirl of the Year. Her hard work and dedication saw her win a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music. Since, then Katherine has signed one of the most lucrative record deals in history with Universal Classics, had six out of 7 albums hit the number one spot in the classical charts and performed twice for the troops in Iraq (the first time, her helicopter was targeted by missiles- very brave to go a second time!). She has made countless appearances performing on popular TV shows including The Apprentice, Strictly Come Dancing and X Factor and in 2010, Katherine was one of two TV talent show judges on prime-time show, Popstar to Operastar. Katherine is a wonderfully unique singer, her Daydream tour is taking in 21 cities across the UK and is sure to be a wonderful night.
