See The Killers and the Manchester Arena and stay in a serviced apartment!

The Manchester Arena is amongst one of the largest indoor arenas in Europe with a capacity of around 21,000 people. It won the title of ‘World’s Busiest Arena’ based on ticket sales from 2001 to 2007 and in 2011 it stood as the second most busy arena, behind London’s O2 Arena but ahead of New York’s Madison Square Gardens and the Staples Center in Los Angeles. It plays host to a variety of events from sports, to concerts to stand up comedy. On 13th and 14th November 2012, Manchester Arena will host American rock band, The Killers, who have added an extra date due to the high demand for tickets.

The Killers formed in 2001 and have become one of the biggest rock bands of the decade. To date, the band has sold over 15 million albums worldwide. They started off playing small venues in Las Vegas where they gained a loyal following and were spotted by a talent scout who got them a record deal in 2003. Their first album, Hot Fuss, was released in 2004 and was the 26th bestselling album of the decade. Hot Fuss spent 173 weeks on the UK album chart which is more than any other album ever. Singles from this album include ‘Mr Brightside’, ‘Somebody Told Me’ and ‘Smile Like You Mean It’. Their second album, Sam’s Town, was released in 2006 and it received a mixed critical response through it was voted Rolling Stones’ ‘Most Underrated Album of the Decade’. Four singles were released from the album: ‘When You Were Young’, ‘Bones’, ‘Read My Mind’ and ‘For Reasons Unknown’.  Day & Age, the band’s third album, was released in 2008 and was a commercial success. The Day & Age tour was a sell out although it came to a premature end in February 2010 after lead singer, Brandon Flowers’ mother lost her battle with brain cancer. The Killers decided to embark on a hiatus after having been touring constantly for the last 6 years. This lasted for a year and a half and now the guys are back with a brand new album, Battle Born.
