Serviced Apartment in London for Rammstein

In February 2012 the O2 Arena will be rocked to its core with the arrival of German metal band Rammstein. The band are touring Europe to coincide with release of a new greatest hits album entitled ‘Made in Germany 1995-2011’ which will be a mix album of all their greatest singles as well as a new previously unreleased song.

Rammstein were formed in 1994 in Berlin and the 6 members have been current throughout their history. Till Lindemann (lead vocals) Paul H. Landers (rhythm guitar and backing vocals) Richard Z. Kruspe (lead guitar and backing vocals) Oliver Riedel (bass guitar) Christoph Schneider (drums and percussion) and Christian Lorenz (keyboards) make up the band who are part of, if not innovators of, the Neue Deutche Härte scene, a genre of industrial metal rock music. The band’s songs are mostly written and sung in German but that hasn’t stopped them from selling over 15 million records worldwide, much to the delight of Universal Music Group who have publiched their entire catalogue. The name ‘Rammstein’ is taken indirectly from the German settlement of Rammstein-Miesenbach which was the site of the Rammstein air disaster in 1988, and their signature song ‘Rammstein’ is a commemoration of this tragedy.

Rammstein released their first studio album in 1995 entitled ‘Herzelied’ and their second ‘Sehnsucht’ in 1996. These 2 brought them fame and fortune and they  embarked on a live tour along with such 90’s acts as Korn, Ice Cube, Orgy and Limp Bizkit on the ironically named ‘Family Value Tour. The band were also nominated on the MTV European Music Awards for ‘best rock act’ and the performed live on the show. They released some more albums over the next few years which were all pretty good. During this time they had an asteroid name after them, 110393 Rammstein if you were wondering.
