Bryan Adams will be playing Liverpool this November as part of a tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his “Waking Up the Neighbours” and there are still serviced apartments available in Liverpool for that night. Bryan Adams will be playing Liverpool’s ECHO Arena on the night of 28th November 2011 as part of a tour of the UK’s arenas. Bryan’s 1991 album “Waking Up the Neighbours” was a massive hit, reaching number 1 in the albums charts in the UK, Germany, Australia, Canada, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. The album only reached number 6 in the United States, but made up for this by going four times platinum, selling over 4,000,000 copies. Bryan Adams’ show at the ECHO Arena should be a real treat for his UK fans, of which there are more than a few given that as well as reaching the top spot, the album went triple platinum here, selling over 900,000 copies. Anyone lucky enough to have a ticket will get to see Bryan performing some of the hits from the album, including “Can’t Stop This Thing We Started” and the absolutely epic “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You”. The song, featured on the classic Kevin Costner film “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves”, was one of the biggest hits of the 1990s. In the UK the song spent 16 weeks at number 1, and it also reached the top spot in 17 countries. The song has won a permanent place in popular culture – this blogger’s favourite example would have to be Will Arnett’s tender rendition to on-screen brother Jason Bateman in the criminally underappreciated television series “Arrested Development”. However, there’s a lot more to Bryan Adams than just one album or one or two songs – his career has lasted for decades, and he is one of the most successful musicians of all time. The Billboard Hot 100 50th Anniversary Charts ranked Adams as 38th on a list of All-Time top artists in 2008, and he has won countless awards for his songs, including two Ivor Novellos. He has also, quite rightly, been acknowledged for his contribution to film scores with three Academy Award nominations to his name. Anyone fortunate enough to see Bryan Adams in Liverpool this November should have a night to remember.
