The Smiths were one of the greatest bands of the 1980s and are still revered today by lovers of literate and intelligent and melodic pop music. The dynamic duo of Morrissey and Johnny Marr would pen a string of classics, such as “The Queen Is Dead”, “Hand in Glove”, and “There is a Light That Never Goes Out” before the band’s acrimonious break up in 1987. Barring some kind of miracle (or a sufficiently large financial incentive) it seems unlikely that we will ever see The Smiths live on stage again.
