serviced apartments in London for a city break

What’s that you say, you always stay in a hotel when you visit London? London does have a vast selection of styles of hotels as well as a variety of budgets. If I was planning to stay in London for a night (or maybe 2) and I was on my own, then I would probably want to book a central London hotel for my trip. However, if my stay was any longer than a couple of days, and let’s say I was having a holiday in London for a week or more with my family, then I would definitely choose to stay in a London serviced apartment.

London is a brilliant place to visit and there is more than enough to do to fill a weeks worth of sightseeing – the London Eye for views across the Capital; Bon Street for finding the fanciest of designer threads, Camden Town on Sunday morning to search out that perfect piece for your home – or maybe you just want to get your body pierced – or you might want to go and see the pomp and splendour of Buckingham Palace. You might even catch a glimpse of the Queen herself. Many visitors for the United States of America hope to. London is also a tremendous city for it’s large spacious parks. Take the kids for a picnic on Hyde Park, or admire the swans on Regents Park. There are others to choose from, where you can escape the hustle and bustle of one of the busiest cities in the world.

But ask yourself this: Do you really want to get back to the confines of staying in a London hotel room? I would much prefer after a tiring day seeing all the sights that London has to offer, to get back to a spacious serviced apartment – one that can accommodate all of the family; one that is equipped with a modern kitchen; dining area where we can eat as a family – without the formality and cost of a hotel; a London apartment that we can all chillout in front of the TV and watch our favourite DVD….sounds good eh?

Serviced Apartments offer a very different (and I would say complimentary) experience than staying in a hotel in London. There is room for both types of accommodation and where a hotel is probably preferable for the shortest of stays, a serviced apartment really comes into it’s own when you need a bit of space, comfort and the feeling of home. Stay in a hotel room for a week and the chances are you will go stir crazy by the end of it, the kids certainly will. If you have a 2 bedroom London apartment then you don’t have to worry about the children being in a locked room down the corridor.

So it sounds great, staying in a London serviced apartment, doesn’t it? But surely there must be a catch? Well, no there isn’t. You will find the apartment option to be great value: a 2 bedroom serviced apartment will generally work out much cheaper than having to reserve 2 hotel rooms; and there is a great selection of apartments to ensure that you can stay in the location of your choice, wherever that may be across Central London.
