Steve Hughes to play Liverpool’s Slaughter House

Steve Hughes is the Australian musician turned comedian with long rocker hair who combines his experiences of both worlds to give you a stand-up experience that will have you laughing your socks off.
Hughes lays claim to a 1980’s thrash metal music career; we can assume his long, bedraggled rocker hair sprouted from his roots in rock music. He formed the band Slaughter Lord who did record demos, but were largely unsuccessful. Hughes was also part of the bands Mortal Sin and Nazxul. Therefore, his relatively new pathway into the comedy arena is likely to appeal to those with knowledge of heavy rock.
Hughes may also appeal to his northern audiences as he has settled in Manchester and often makes references to his experiences of the city and the Mancunian inhabitants. This move to the UK was inspired by Hughes’ wish to expand his audiences, so since 2002 he has lived in Britain whilst promoting and performing his stand-ups. It would appear Steve Hughes has somewhat achieved his aim, as audience members have raved about his hilarious twists on situation-comedy and he has received outstanding reviews from his performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He has also made television appearances on the critically acclaimed Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, and Channel 4’s “Stand-up of the Week.”
Why not see the man himself live in the centre of one of Britain’s most happening cities? Steve Hughes is appearing at Liverpool’s Slaughter House on Thursday 3rd April. This will be a great night for laughing ‘til your sides ache and at only £12 a ticket, there’s simply no reason not to! Hughes’ stand-up is also student friendly as those who are holders of an NUS card can attend for just £10!! With all that money saved, why not go bargain bonkers and book a Liverpool serviced apartment to stay in? This will be a welcome rest where you can safely put your socks back on (you’ll have laughed them off more than once).
