The shortlisted contenders to win The Turner Prize 2009 are currently being exhibited at Tate Britain Gallery, London. The event has been on show since october 6th and runs through to 16th January 2010, with the winner being formally announced on 7th December. As ever, there are four shortlisted artists vying for the £25,000 first prize. These four are: Enrico David, Roger Hiorns, Lucy Skaer and Richard Wright. Serviced City Pads expects Roger Hiorns to be crowned this years winner in London.
The Turner Prize continues to divide opinion much like Marmite with many people questionning where Art becomes Art. If debate is being stimulated then Serviced City Pads sees this as a good thing for the Art world, increasing the general public’s exposure to Art that they would otherwise have no concept of can only have a positive effect both on society and education. This annual art event has been running since 1984 with previous einners including Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin.
